Irwin Hayes was up in the loft at the time, moving bales of hay, but did not know the boy had followed him up until he heard him cry out from the stable floor below. Dr. Green had him removed to Pontiac Community Hospital, and two days later moved him to the Giv e Hospital in Ottawa. He was pronounced out of danger early this week, and is now recovering at home. Rabid Skunk Shot By Lloyd Stewart A skunk was shot and killed by Lloyd Stewart on his farm, R. R. 1, Shawville, on Monda/, of last week when it came up to the door of the house about 8 o’clock In the morning and attacked the Stewart’s dog. Lloyd called the dog away, so the skunk retreated, but came back a few minutes later. Figuring that something must be seriously wrong with the animal, and suspecting rabies, Lloyd shot it and reported the incident to Dr. Armltage, Shawville veterinarian. The provincial department of Agriculture office In Hull was notified, and official appeared at the Stewart farm on Tuesday to remove the skunk for examination.
